About the Event

On September 16, 2021 New Hope FOR Families’ 2nd Annual LOVE GALA will take place at Northland Country Club featuring fine food, a cash bar, and a silent auction in support of local foster children.

In February, 2019 the St Anthony’s Community Center, which was owned by the Benedictine Sisters and managed by Essentia Health, was gifted to New Hope FOR Families complete with a six-bedroom home.  We were able to utilize the home for one of our newly licensed foster families providing eight additional beds to meet foster care needs in St. Louis County.  The Community Center includes a beautiful Romanesque Chapel, a gymnasium and several classrooms as well as a fenced in outdoor playground and plenty of green space.

Currently, we are working to reopen the beautiful, sunny childcare center providing 8 infant, 14 toddler and 20 preschool openings available to all families locally. Thanks to a local private donation of $25,000, we partnered with Northern Bedrock Restoration Mentorship Program for interior wall restoration.  Other major restoration projects needed are a Lift to make us handicap accessible, repairs or replace sections of gutters on our Foster Care Community Center, foster shelter home kitchen remodel, set up of our family visitation room, parking lot black top, and decking for an outdoor green space for the foster care shelter;  however, in order to accomplish this, we need your help.

Our goal is to raise $80,000 to cover much-needed updates and repairs and then be able to create a fund to help families working to provide a warm, safe place of security and love for children who have been removed from dangerous homes.

St. Louis County currently has the highest mortality rate for drug overdose in the state of Minnesota.  Due to the unprecedented rise in opioid, heroin and methamphetamine abuse, drug addiction is now the #1 cause for  the removal of children from homes.  This statistic has increased by a staggering and dangerous 70% since 2013.  These traumatic circumstances, which are out of a child's control, often lead to a higher-risk of dropping out of school, a cycle of unemployment, chemical dependency, sex trafficking, and a life of homelessness.

We want to stop this cycle and your donation will be of great help in providing a safe place for foster children to live and grow within a healthy community of love and support designed to empower these precious children to grow up and positively impact the future generations of our community.

Thank you for helping us provide New Hope FOR Families because your donation will make a difference in a child’s life.

P.S. - If you are unable to donate towards our LOVE Gala but would like to contribute a financial gift in support of our mission, please visit our website or you may send your donation to us.  THANK YOU!
